This Year's Model Updates:

The 2010 Ford Transit Connect is an all-new compact work van. Already sold in Europe and other markets, the Transit Connect is designed for small business owners who don't need a full-size, V8-powered van.

Pros:
  • Nimble in the city, excellent fuel economy, cavernous space given its exterior size, innovative high-tech options.
Cons:
  • Glaciers are quicker, modest payload capacity, funky Fusion-meets-Sprinter van styling.

We use our transit connect for work. My number 1 concern is the lack of leg room for back seat passengers. At times we need to transport more than one person to the urgent care and the lack of leg room makes it very difficult to do so. At 60 Miles an hour the RPM are 25,000, seams to high. Front seat is fairly comfortable, even on longer trips. Visibility is very good all around. Huge front panoramic front windshield easy to see pretty much everything.

I have had the vehicle about 6 weeks now, and I am very satisfied with the preformance it has given me in this time. The vehicle is used in funeral service, and it accomidates the need for what it was purchased for. The vehicle has a very professional look to it and it seems to get alot of attention by alot of people. I have of course a black vehicle with glass on the sides and rear doors. I have recently used the vehicle on a long over the road trip ( 10 Hours ) and the ride was "OK", I did not come out of the car with soar legs or a soar back, I must say it was comfortable.

This van handles better then expected, smooth ride, great visibility from the front windshield and sides windows. Also has a tight turning radius. Have it just one week, every thing is within reach and the over head storage is awesome. Its every thing they said it would be. Dont believe what they say about the power, this vehicle has plenty of power as far as I am concerned.

  • Finally... - 2010 Ford Transit Connect

After trying a Nissan Pathfinder, a Ford Expedition, and a Chrysler Pacifica for my calibration business, I finally found THE right vehicle. No desire for a mini/full size van. I spend over 40 weeks on the road annually. I call this my money bus, or my toaster (mine is RED). No problems at 15,000 miles. Love the Bluetooth. I fabricated a full-length shelf about 15" below the roofline. Would rather have purchased the same custom made. I also installed a side-mounted shelf unit custom from Adrian Steel. Stereo upgrade a must. Traction Control is impressive. 25-28 mpg highway. Power is adequate, handling/maneuverability is a dream. Id love to pimp this one out! Rear seats a snap to remove.

  • An excellent choice - 2010 Ford Transit Connect

After driving this van in Europe I am glad that it is now available in the US. I use is as my personal vehicle not for any business. A truly utilitarian vehicle that combines all the good road manners, efficiency and fuel economy - this IS a true SUV - not the huge "living rooms on wheels" that call themselves SUVs. Power is very adequate, handling is great and the interior room is much larger than many full-size SUVs or trucks. Parking is just as good - fits easily where a mid-size car would. Turning radius is fantastic nice and the van turns on a dime. Seats are very comfortable for the long haul. All in all a very nice vehicle indeed.

Gas mileage good. Power good. Style good. Interior room . Awesome. I traded in a Ford escape. Been on trips, mostly drive in town like most of us. Stops great. Some gmc cut over in front of me the other day and the transit did extremely well. I do wish they had a luxury package or more add-ons. Fab for hauling stuff. John Jones Stone mountain, ga.

This wagon not only holds the grandkids, but all of the toys too. Built a box in the back to hold camping/travel gear. We can fold down rear seats and set up air mattress for unscheduled sleepovers.

  • Want XLT with REAR SEATS - 2010 Ford Transit Connect

I test drove (50 miles)the Ford Transit Connect XL Van. I was hoping to get a XLT with rear seats during the car clunker program. I really liked the Transit Connect. It handled very good. I do not plan to use this for long trips - power was sufficient for my 30 miles and less trips. I plan to use this in my Craft/Show business. My 22x15x12 inch folding top boxes (24+ ) fit perfectly in the XL. I need this to be Parkway legal so rear seats are a must. NO information was available (online, at dealer, parts department detail sheets, booklets) if the seats can be removed. NO XLTs are available in my area to see rear seats. Now clunker program is gone I can wait using my Chevy Astro Van for now

  • plan your loading and day thoughtfully! - 2010 Ford Transit Connect

1st, creature comfort aka ergonomics. The odd-looking ignition/door/fuel door, and get this: 2-turn hood unlatching "Tibbe" key, is tricky to insert, hard to duplicate other than at the dealer, VERY expensive with the remote functions. You get 2,dont lose it, salesman warns! Fat to carry spare in your wallet, and no one seems to know if a plain "non-remote" copy will start vehicle. With just rear glass, turning from angle street intersections tricky to see oncoming traffic from right. I would recommend passenger side cargo door glass be standard. Acceleration for a 4 banger adequate, even interstate on- ramp with a load on board. brake pedal feels odd, as if booster is pulling it down.
